Denton County hail through the years

A look back at the storms

Hail is a near-every-spring event in Denton County — and some years it turns severe. Here's the recent record, year by year.

2026 up to 2" Hen Egg

2026 hail season

A quieter start — quarter-size hail near Ponder on May 24, then two-inch hen-egg stones near Little Elm and The Colony on June 2.

2025 up to 2" Hen Egg

2025 hail season

Half-dollar hail hit Lewisville in a late-night storm on March 29; quarter-size swept Denton and Argyle on May 6; lakeside clusters on June 8; and hen-egg stones landed near Sanger on September 21.

2024 up to 3" Hockey Puck

2024 hail season

The big year. The March 14 DFW super-storm dropped up to 2.5-inch baseball hail in Argyle; three-inch hockey-puck stones fell near Justin and Ponder in April; a stormy May ran from golf-ball to three-inch; and June 2 logged nine reports across the county in a single day — 67 hail reports countywide across the year.

2023 up to 5" Grapefruit

2023 hail season

The worst on record. Roughly five-inch, grapefruit-size hail came down near Sanger on June 15 — among the largest ever logged in the county — with golf-ball stones in Pilot Point the next day and 2.5-inch baseball hail in Krum that September.

2022 up to 1.25" Half Dollar

2022 hail season

A relatively mild year, with quarter-to-half-dollar hail rolling through Pilot Point and Aubrey in mid-May.

2021 up to 1.25" Half Dollar

2021 hail season

A November storm swept half-dollar hail across the northeast county — Pilot Point, Aubrey, and Krugerville — in a single evening, a reminder that hail season here isn't only spring.

Know your hail

How big does it get here?

Hail is measured against everyday objects. The brass-filled sizes below have all come down somewhere in Denton County — right up to grapefruit-size.

Anything from a quarter up will dent sheet metal. Once you're at golf-ball size and beyond, you're looking at dozens of dents, cracked glass, and busted trim — exactly the damage we're built to repair.

Our approach

The right repair, for the best result

Preserve your factory finish

When the paint is intact, paintless dent repair reshapes the metal from behind and preserves your factory finish — the best outcome when it's the right method for the damage.

Repaired in days, not months

Most hail repairs are finished in days to weeks after your claim is approved — never months. We keep the process moving so you get your vehicle back.

We handle the claim

We work directly with your insurance on the paperwork and the repair. You're responsible for your deductible as set by your policy — we take care of the rest of the process.

Some damage needs more than PDR — and when it does, we do the paint and bodywork ourselves, with the same care and premium materials as everything we touch. One shop, one standard, start to finish.

Our own work

Real hail damage, documented for the claim

Every dent gets revealed under professional lighting, then marked and counted for your insurance estimate. These are our own inspection photos — not stock.

Denton County hail FAQ

Straight answers

Which Denton County towns do you serve?

All of them. We're based in Krum and cover the whole county — Denton, Krum, Sanger, Argyle, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Little Elm, Aubrey, Pilot Point, Corinth, Highland Village, Ponder, and the communities around them. Pick your town above for local detail.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the vehicle in?

A bit of both, and it's built to be easy on you. We start with a free mobile inspection — we come to you to assess the damage. From there we handle valet pickup and drop-off of your vehicle, so you don't have to rearrange your day. All repairs are done at our shop in Krum. Start with a free evaluation and we'll set up the pickup.

Will a hail claim raise my insurance rate?

Hail is classified as a "comprehensive" (weather) claim, not an at-fault accident, so it's treated differently than a collision. How it affects any individual policy varies by carrier — your insurer or agent can tell you exactly how yours is handled. We'll help with the claim paperwork either way.

What about my deductible?

You're responsible for your deductible as set by your policy — that part is between you and your insurer. What we do is handle the claim paperwork and the repair itself so the process is as painless as possible. Here's why we won't cover your deductible.

Hail hit your part of Denton County? Let's take a look.

Send a few photos of the damage and we'll get you a free evaluation. Local, second-generation, and here to stay — not a storm-chaser passing through.

A free evaluation is a damage inspection, not a binding estimate. We serve every town in Denton County. Your information is never shared.
